Stories, Smiles & Snapshots
A joyful collection of life’s little laughs and candid photos—a peek at the moments that bring a smile to my face.
The Clean Room Competition
Despite having one of the messiest rooms among 500 rooms, my roommate and I accidentally got shortlisted in top 12 in the "Clean Room Competition."Amused by this, we decided to go all out. We cleaned every nook and cranny—even the invisible tops of the fans—evicted 25 spiders and our pet lizard (whom we politely asked to stay next door for a day). To make the room look clutter-free, we moved half our stuff into a friend's room. In fact, our room had less dust than the moon's surface.Guess what? We clinched 3rd place and even received ₹500 as prize money :) We even kept photos in case Mom asked to see our room in future :D :D
The Soup Story
Once at a restaurant, I wanted half a portion of soup, but they refused. I didn't mind breaking social norms, so I asked, "No worries, just bring an extra bowl." They obliged.
Then I said, "Now that you've brought the bowl, would you be kind and help me split the soup in half?" The waiter and my friends burst into laughter. It was a lighthearted way to get what I wanted and share a laugh.
Chat with a Flight Attendant
Once on an Indigo flight, I struck up a conversation with a cabin crew member that lasted quite a while.By the end, I knew about Indigo Airlines' crew schedules, training processes, salaries, flight routes, and some insider stories! It was fascinating to connect with someone new and learn about a world I knew little of.
The Exam Snooze Button
During my time at XLRI, there were exams where I felt less prepared. Instead of stressing, I'd tell the person behind me, "Wake me up when there are 15 minutes left." Believe it or not, the sleep you get in an exam hall is unmatched!Once, I even asked the exam invigilator to give me a nudge later. Those power naps were legendary, and somehow, I always managed to scribble enough in those last minutes.
The Unstoppable Cycle Ride
One evening on campus, I hopped onto the back of a friend's bicycle. As we sped downhill, the cycle gained alarming speed. Suddenly, we noticed a bump ahead. My friend turned to me with panic in his eyes, "There are no brakes!"Next thing I knew, we hit the bump, and I soared higher than any airplane. The landing? Not as graceful. But hey, it's not every day you get to fly without wings!
